Ricardo Leon from Gualan – Zacata, Guatemala Central America married to Sandra Elizabeth Leon. Sandra gave birth to four children Karol Elizabeth, Katie Melissa, Karen Maria, and Josue Ricardo.
Ricardo states the following:
I started to work in construction when I was 8 years old with my father. I went to the school in the mornings and afternoons. I would work during the weekends on my dad’s projects (he was a constructor in Guatemala) such projects included new houses and enhancement of houses.
At the age of 14 I studied at night and worked by myself by enhancing and improving houses as well as public projects in my beautiful city “Gualan”.
I studied my bachelor’s (high school diploma) in science and letters through the Evangelic Institute – America Latina, architectural drawing in the school of Mexico – Polimex School. I also became a technical constructor in a school of Barcelona, Spain C.E.A.C. TC 8216.
Between the ages of 18-22 I managed the biggest project in my life with 280 employees and 8 continuous buildings of the project ZOLIC (Zona Libre de Indutrio y Comercio) my position in this project was a universal constructor or superintendent.
In 1985 I moved to Washington DC and worked for Barbe Contracting (Kirt Barbe) for 8 years remodeling in George Town and building apartment buildings for Berry Linde.
Between 1994 and 1997 I worked for SUR Developer in Potomac and Rockville as a general superintendent’s assistant of Martin Gallahan.
Between 1998 and 2000 I worked for Gallahan Remodeling as well as worked by myself doing home improvement.
In 2001, based on my experience and education began the birth of Leon Home Improvement Contractor, Inc offering its service of home improvement from bottom up (footing to roofing) as well as understanding over digging and building basements. Such a project included one in George Town where we built a basement of two levels.
Between 2003 and 2005 LHI succeeded in building over 15 basements in the areas of Maryland and District of Columbia. In all, LHI succeeded in serving hundred of customers in a manner of a few years. |
